Timeline

1932: Handi Works is formed by the Hughes family in Brisbane, Queensland,  Australia.

1933, 23rd December. The company is commenced at Charlotte Street, Wilson House, City (Brisbane). The owner is Mr A .O. Hughes. Manufacture starts of the company's first product; the steaming irons.

1937: The company moves to Stanley Street, South Brisbane. 

1943: Mr John Rogerson begins at Handi.

1946: The company moves to 148 Evans Road (then called Compo Road), Salisbury (suburb south of Brisbane) .

1955: Mr Doug Drysdale begin to work at Handi.

1957: Mr Stewart Dodds begin to work at Handi.

1975: The Handi Marine Stove & Oven Started production.

1977 May: Mr John R. Agnew & Mrs V.L. Agnew buy the business. On the 1st July they formally move in.

1980: The Handi Marine Stove & Oven stopped production .

1997, 1st July: Change of ownership, as Vic Tipman takes over the company. All production ceases. Only old existing stock is still being sold.

1989 to 90: All New production ceases; stoves, lights and irons are still assembled from existing stock and minor parts continue to be manufactured.

2001, 24th July: Albert White becomes the owner of the Handi brand in order to save it from a quiet death.

2001: Sales of new old stock available. I have started making emergency parts like Prickers . Most parts is available to keep our valuable Lights, Stoves & irons in working condition. Some parts for other products still exist. (I think it may be best to go with Prickers )

2002, 1st March: The Handi Virtual Museum goes online.
