Welcome
to
the
Handi
Virtual
Museum!
Here
you
will
find
pictures,
histories,
links
and
other
Handi-related
content
meant
to
delight
both
hard-case
collectors
and
more
casual
visitors.
The
Handi
Works
Pty
Limited
company
was
established
in
Brisbane
in
1932.
Over
the
next
50
years
they
produced
camping
stoves,
lights,
etc
etc,
and
became
a
familiar
brand
in
home
and
field
all
over
the
continent.
As
electricity
gradually
spread
out
also
over
the
rural
districts
the
need
for
kerosene-powered
heating
and
light
diminished,
and
sales
and
production
were
reduced
until
hardly
more
than
the
spare
parts
storage
and
the
name
remained.
At
this
time
it
was
almost
inevitable
that
Handi
should
be
discontinued
like
so
many
other
Australian
traditional-goods
companies,
except
for
one
collector's
determination.

Handi
Updates:
24th
June
2002;
It
is
now
five
months
since
we
opened
the
site
and
more
than
a
thousand
visits
have
been
recorded.
Not
bad
considering
the
near
total
absense
of
advertising!
This
update
includes
some
handy
searchwords
for
the
search
engines
so
traffic
may
get
a
hike.
More
important,
we
add
a
whole
bag
of
new
content!.
Ross
Meadows
has
finetuned
some
of
the
pictures
a
bit.
New
items:
the
Maintenance
&
repair
FAQ,
written
by
Albert.
A
new
instruction
sheet:
Do's
and
Don'ts
for
the
Successful
Operation
of
Petrol
Appliances.
A
story
by
Albert
introduces
the
Stories
section
which
we
hope
will
grow
with
reader's
content.
Previously
unmentioned
models
in
this
update
is
the
Handi
Furnace
&
Oven.
A
new
picture
of
the
Handi
Marine
Stove
And
Oven
has
been
added.
There's
also
more
new
stuff
on
the
Handi
Refrigerator
and
the
Handi
Lights
section
has
more
about
Light
Parts.
Enjoy!
